Can't help but smile :)

I am not sure how it is that I have not come across this until now, but I absolutely love it. This adorable couple near 90 years old, who perform at nursing homes, hospitals, care centers, and churches primarily seem to have a few things figured out when it comes to being happy.

Awesomeness

I went to Disneyland with some of the members of my family recently and saw this awesomeness. I loved it. Disneyland never disappoints. The weather however did disappoint. We are talking rain for 2 days straight....not awesomeness.
This is my grandpa. He embodies awesomeness. He is the hardest working 86 year old man I know of. He still has a huge garden that he works in daily. Look at him how can you not love him...sweater vest and all.
This is my grandma's arm. How many grandmas are up for a fake Halloween tattoo on their arm. Amazing. She was only upset that the cat was wrinkly. I love her.
These are my two oldest nieces. They are adorable. Dress up at grandma's...they love it. I adore them.
This last picture is taken at Jordon Commons. This display is set up with a space provided to take your picture. Who at the movie theatre sees an advertisement for an upcoming movie and needs a photo op?! Seriously?! I seized the opportunity. (fyi I do not care about this upcoming flick even one iota)

ZURI

I love elephants. I have never seen a baby elephant before in my life. My love for elephants grew one hundred fold today! She is adorable...can you say that about an elephant?! Can or can't--- I think she is :)

*I got this lens a about 2 months ago and it is everything that I could have hoped for. It is a Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM. It was not exactly cheap but I could not be happier with my purchase.

*This may just be the best water bottle yet fabricated. I like ice in my water. When I drink out of a Nalgene I get ice face--the hole is too big. I love my Camel Back water bottle but in my venture to drink more water a day a straw does not prove the best method. This Contigo is the answer...I love it. You can get a three pack of them at your local Costco right now. I highly recommend it.

*I do not have an auxiliary port in my car and trying to get my ipod adapter that ran through my radio to not be staticky proved difficult. Now, I can listen to my ipod directly through my stereo, charge it while I listen, and skip through songs on my stereo face! Lovin' it!

*My siblings in all of their wisdom got me a unicycle for my birthday. You would think to get a unicycle you would need to ask for something this specific for someone to even think of getting it for you. Nope I didn't-- they know me just that well--- I love it! (I will admit it proves much harder than one would think)

ThE UpSiDe

The upside to all of this rain is that when I take my lunch it is the perfect temperature with my windows in my car all slightly cracked. Today, with the sound of rain tapping on my car and just a slight sound of thunder, it created some seriously ideal nap time. The amount of time during the year when my car is not too hot or too cold with out having the car running is very minimal. Here's to the crazy lunch nap...the mid-day power nap that I love.

Heart Healthy Blend

Shout out to Costco---bringing it back. This may be the best cereal, well, ever! I have not been able to find it anywhere for ages but, it is back in action! Based on the idea that I don't purchase every box, you should pick some up and give it a go.

*Not sure why I can not find a picture of the best General Mills cereal ever made but, I can not find one on the internet anywhere.

Camp Oakcrest

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to go to a 50th anniversary celebration for Camp Oakcrest. For anyone who may not know I worked at Oakcrest the summer of 1999 and loved every second. Hiking and camping, riding the zip line, doing some archery, making crafts, and singing lots of songs. My testimony of the Savior grew a great amount the summer that I worked there and I do not think I have had or taken the chance to bear my testimony as much as I did that summer. Going back brought back a lot of great memories and also renewed my love for that place. It was an amazing thing to see struggling teenage girls come to camp not quite sure of who they were and to watch them leave knowing that they were daughters of God. Glad I got to work there that summer and right now, grateful I got to go back even if for just a night!

SKI UTAH!!

So, last ski season I was lucky enough to get new skiis, as well as have a season pass. I only worked as a part time librarian and a part time hair dresser so my schedule was pretty flexible. This year I have not been quite so lucky. I have no season pass, skiing is expensive, and I work full time as well as do hair on the side part time. Linds and I went skiing today and I realized how much I miss it. It was a beautiful day--the sun was out and it was not freezing cold. We got there as soon as they opened so we had a few hours before the good ole' holiday crowd showed up. This was the first time I have been able to go this year...and I hope it is not the last. I couldn't count on two hands the amount of times I went last year. Kinda a bummer, but I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to go today with only goodness...no injury or problems. YAHOO!!!

---as a side note the last picture is of me driving home... the sun was so bright I could not see with the reflection off of the snow. I had no sun glasses so had to resort to wearing my goggles while driving....he he!!

LoveSac Lives On!

Remember when LoveSacs came out about 10 years ago and there was this huge LoveSac craze. I thought they were lame for a while thinking to myself who in their right mind would pay that much money for a bean bag--SERIOUSLY! Then I realized I thought they were super cool, and the coolest people had them. Well, my friends, the legacy continues! I have what LoveSac would refer to as a PillowSac. It is this huge pillow--to be perfectly honest it looks like a huge dog bed or something. It can lay flat (like a dog bed) or it can sit on its side and you can sit in it like a chair. I have had it for years and sit in it occasionally. To make a long story short... the last two nights I have layed it flat and slept on it. I do not usually wake up a ton during the night but, more often than not find myself waking up a time or two a little bit uncomfortable and having to re-situate. The last two nights I have not woken up at all. Not until morning that is, when I then realize I am so comfortable I can hardly bare to get up for the day. So, let these crazy expensive bean bags live on!!!
